When God’s time to reposition a fellow comes, such a person will not have to worry about his or her enemies because the King of kings Himself will handle them. In 1 Kings 19:1-8, after God repositioned Elijah on the same Mount Horeb where He repositioned Moses, Elijah never ran from anyone again. In fact, as 1 Kings 21:20-24 reveals, he boldly approached the king of Israel to inform him about God’s judgment.
God often repositions people so they can see far. When you are on a mountain top, for instance, you will be able to see farther than someone in a valley. If you have ever been on a plane, you will discover that the higher it goes, the farther you can see. When you are on the ground, houses, trees, and other objects will block your view, but as you go higher, you will see more objects and things. In Genesis 13:14-17, God made it clear to Abraham that he could have everything he could see. Then, He instructed him not to stand in one spot, but to walk the length and breadth of the land, and He would give him whatever he could see.
At times, when God repositions a person, He does that so that the person can see the unusual. He does that so that the person can see what He is about to make available for him or her. In today’s Bible reading, the Lord took three of His disciples with Him to the Mount of Transfiguration to see what ordinary eyes could not see. They saw the Lord transfigured, and they also saw Moses and Elijah, who had been dead for hundreds of years. They saw what ordinary eyes could not see because the Lord repositioned them to a mountaintop.
In Mark 5:35-43, when the Lord Jesus Christ wanted to show Peter, James, and John how to raise the dead, he repositioned them. When He and His disciples arrived at Jairus’ house, He kept the others outside and only allowed the three of them to follow Him inside; the three disciples witnessed how He raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead. Years later, in Acts 9:36-42, when Peter was about to raise Dorcas from the dead, he followed the example set before him by the Lord.
Beloved, God wants to reposition you to a mountaintop, and that mountaintop is a place of closer communion with Him. Are you ready for this repositioning?
